"To start, I�m not all that familier with AGATUS and this latest CD is actually my first journey into their Blackend world. Being the curious person I am I decided to search out a little info and discovered they are originally from Greece but have relocated to Australia and that the two guys are also in ZEMIAL. I�m inclined to simply state: 'Buy this, it rules, period' and leave it at that but I suppose you�ll want a little more, huh? Well, 'The Weaving Fates' presents a variety of styles / influences with Greek Black Metal being in the forefront (think VARATHRON or earlier ROTTING CHRIST) while also giving a healthy nod towards oldschool Traditional Metal and even some NWOBHM amongst the riffing (the song 'Conqueror Of Fear' in particular). Finally there�s even some Folk elements weaved throughout. Add in a good production, tight musicianship, use of unusual -for Metal- instruments (tambourine, gong, bells, spokes), lots of melody and strong riffing and you�ve got a successful album."
